Our Story

Our journey into decluttering expertise began in 2000, while working with a developer who was also involved in house flipping. My role entailed sorting, hauling, and cleaning homes that were often cluttered, grimy, and in dire need of a makeover. Our goal was clear: to restore these spaces to their former glory—or better. This process ignited my passion for rejuvenating furniture, moldings, cabinets, and entire interiors, breathing new life into neglected elements. I found inventive ways to repurpose materials, like transforming old headboards into shelving or converting an old oak table into a corner desk. The satisfaction I derived from both creating and repurposing was immense.

 

In addition to my hands-on experience, I am a certified integral coach specializing in the decluttering journey. I've supported many individuals through the challenging process of letting go, understanding firsthand how crucial it is to have support when facing tough decisions. Decluttering is not just about clearing physical space; it’s about overcoming emotional obstacles. The memories and guilt attached to belongings can make it difficult to move forward. Coaching has been invaluable in teaching others not only mastering the art of decluttering but also maintaining a clutter-free environment. 

 

With 20 years of experience in real estate, working closely with developers and staging homes, I have refined my skills in simple design and useable spaces. Early on, I was introduced to Swedish Death Cleaning, or “döstädning,” a method designed to simplify life and ease the burden on loved ones. This approach profoundly shapes our understanding of decluttering, blending practicality with emotional clarity.

 

Decluttering is a practice that, once developed, transforms into a liberating habit. The process might be tough, but the ultimate reward is a serene, open space that allows you to truly relax and enjoy your home.
